Police have arrested one of two suspects after a girl allegedly faced sexual assault and blackmail in Kanganpur. Authorities said the suspects allegedly recorded the incident and later circulated the video on social media.
According to the FIR registered on the girl’s father’s complaint, police booked Ali Hamza and Allah Rakha. The case concerns an alleged assault in the Treda Makhnewala area within Kanganpur police station’s jurisdiction.
Blackmail Allegedly Led to Assault
According to the FIR and the victim’s family, the incident began five to six months ago. The girl had visited a shrine, where the suspects allegedly took her photographs and videos.
The suspects allegedly later used the material to blackmail her. The family alleged that Ali Hamza pressured the girl into meeting him at a location, where he allegedly assaulted her.
Meanwhile, Allah Rakha allegedly recorded the incident on video. The suspects allegedly circulated the footage on social media, prompting the girl’s family to approach police and seek legal action.
Police Launch Investigation
Kanganpur police registered a case following the family’s complaint and arrested Ali Hamza. Police described him as the main suspect, while authorities said Allah Rakha remains at large.
Police have continued efforts to locate the second suspect and investigate the allegations. Authorities said the girl was shifted to a government hospital for a medical examination.
The medical examination will support further legal proceedings in the case. Police are also investigating the alleged recording and circulation of the video as part of the case.
