Virat Kohli fined after high-octane IPL clash

As per Media reports, authorities fined Indian cricket star Virat Kohli on Tuesday for breaching the Indian Premier League (IPL) code of conduct.

Kohli’s team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, lost to Chennai in a nail-biting match.

Kohli’s wild celebration of Chennai batsman Shivam Dube’s wicket at a crucial point of the high-scoring game on Monday caused the sanction.

On Tuesday, Virat Kohli, the fiery 34-year-old Indian cricket star, admitted to an offense and the authorities fined him 10% of his match fee.

However, they did not specify which rule the batsman had broken.

The high-scoring and tense match, witnessed by a raucous capacity Bengaluru crowd, saw a record-equalling 33 sixes and was ultimately won by Chennai Super Kings, led by M.S. Dhoni, by eight runs.

Despite being one of the best batsmen in modern cricket, Kohli has often encountered problems due to his aggressive approach and no-holds-barred emotions on the cricket pitch.

He has had numerous run-ins with opposing players and was once reprimanded for hitting a plastic chair with a bat after his dismissal during an IPL match, although he escaped a fine.

Also, According to recent media reports, Kohli has fallen out with India’s former cricket chief, Sourav Ganguly, with the two men reportedly “unfollowing” each other on Instagram.

After a rumoured fall-out with Ganguly, Kohli resigned as Indian T20 captain in late 2021 and fired as one-day captain and Test captain in January 2022.
