The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed the official jersey for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 on Monday, with white-ball captain Babar Azam, along with Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan, showcasing the vibrant “Matrix Jersey” in a ceremony resonating with Pakistan’s cricketing passion.
The Matrix Jersey, adorned with bold designs and vivid hues, captures the essence of Pakistan’s cricketing spirit while reflecting a contemporary style, garnering excitement from fans nationwide.
With its dominant green shade symbolizing the nation’s identity, the jersey is poised to be a source of pride for both players and supporters as they embark on their T20 World Cup journey.
The unveiling ceremony, shared on PCB’s social media, depicted moments of anticipation and enthusiasm as players engaged in drills before the grand reveal of the Matrix Jersey. Saim Ayub, Naseem Shah, Babar Azam, and other key figures proudly wore the jersey, signaling their readiness for the global cricketing stage.
Pakistan’s campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024 kicks off on June 6 in the United States, where they will face tough opponents in Group A, including arch-rivals India, Ireland, Canada, and co-hosts United States.
Before the grand event, Pakistan is scheduled for an exciting T20I series against Ireland, followed by another series in England, aiming to build momentum for the World Cup.
The initial 18-player squad announced for the Ireland and England series will be trimmed down to 15 players for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 after the first T20I against England on May 22. The squad submission deadline, originally set for May 1, has been extended to May 25, allowing teams to make necessary adjustments, pending approval from the event’s technical committee.
With the tournament featuring 20 qualifying teams divided into four groups of five, the competition for supremacy intensifies as only the top two teams from each group advance to the Super 8 round. The quest for cricketing glory reaches its climax on June 29 with the final showdown.
