Pakistan’s javelin sensation Arshad Nadeem, who made headlines around the world after securing a historic gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, continues to inspire millions — this time earning heartfelt recognition from across the border in India.

The official Instagram account of the Indian Olympic Association (@olympickhel) shared a powerful tribute video celebrating Nadeem’s resilience, determination, and triumph. The post, featuring the caption “Why do we fall? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up,” highlights Nadeem’s emotional and physical journey from disappointment at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to ultimate glory in Paris in 2024.

The video opens with footage from the Tokyo Games, where Nadeem, despite his best efforts, narrowly missed out on a podium finish. In that competition, India’s Neeraj Chopra clinched the gold with a throw of 87.58 meters — a landmark victory for India in athletics. Meanwhile, Nadeem’s performance was commendable but not enough to earn a medal, leaving him visibly disheartened.

Fast forward to Paris 2024, and the mood is drastically different. The video then shifts to a euphoric Nadeem, arms raised, tears in his eyes, standing tall on the Olympic podium with a gold medal around his neck.

His monumental throw of 92.97 meters not only secured first place but also set a new Olympic record, turning him into a national hero and an international role model.

What makes Nadeem’s success even more remarkable is the adversity he overcame on his path to glory. Leading up to the Tokyo Olympics, Nadeem lacked basic facilities, proper training grounds, and access to world-class coaching.

Despite these challenges, he remained committed to representing Pakistan, even rejecting offers from other nations to switch allegiance.

The Indian Olympic body’s tribute to Nadeem is a rare and heartwarming gesture of cross-border sportsmanship. It not only acknowledges his incredible sporting achievement but also celebrates the universal human values of persistence, humility, and national pride.

Arshad Nadeem’s journey is now etched in Olympic history — and in the hearts of fans on both sides of the border.
