Hasan Ali Sets New Record as PSL’s Top Wicket-Taker

Hasan Ali

Karachi Kings’ fast bowler, Hasan Ali, has etched his name in Pakistan Super League (PSL) history by becoming the highest wicket-taker of all time, surpassing the previous record held by Wahab Riaz.

This remarkable achievement came during a match against Quetta Gladiators, which was played at Karachi’s National Stadium on Friday.

In the game, Karachi Kings batted first and posted a competitive total of 175 runs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Quetta Gladiators, in response, struggled significantly, managing to score only 119 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs. Karachi’s dominant 56-run victory was largely propelled by Hasan Ali’s exceptional bowling performance.

Hasan Ali’s three-wicket haul in the match brought him to a total of 116 wickets in 84 innings, surpassing Wahab Riaz’s previous record of 113 wickets in 87 innings.

The moment of history came when Hasan Ali dismissed Quetta’s Hassan Nawaz for just a single run, marking the breakthrough that placed him at the top of the PSL’s all-time wicket-taking chart. This feat is another testament to Hasan Ali’s outstanding career and his growing influence in the league.

The fast bowler, who is currently in excellent form, had already claimed 8 wickets in just 3 matches this season, adding to his impressive record.

After the match, Ali expressed his joy at breaking the record and credited his success to the unwavering support of his team and fans. “It’s a special feeling to set a new record in PSL, and it’s all possible because of the support of my team and the fans,” Ali shared.

With the victory, Karachi Kings moved to third place in the PSL 10 standings, having won 2 of their 3 matches and earned 4 points.

The team’s performance continues to improve, and with players like Hasan Ali in top form, Karachi Kings are well-positioned to challenge the top spots as the tournament progresses. Hasan Ali’s achievement marks a milestone in his career and further cements his status as one of PSL’s premier fast bowlers.
