Hamza Khan becomes the first Pakistani to win World Junior Squash Championship since 1986

Hamza Khan secured a momentous victory in the World Junior Squash Championship 2023 by defeating Egypt’s Mohamed Zakaria in the final. This triumph makes him the first Pakistani champion in the tournament since 1986.

The tournament, held in Melbourne, Australia, witnessed an impressive performance by Hamza Khan. He clinched the title with a 3-1 victory over his Egyptian opponent.

The last time Pakistan celebrated a World Junior Squash Championship winner was in 1986, achieved by the legendary Jansher Khan. Hamza Khan’s victory marks a significant achievement for Pakistan in junior squash and is a proud moment for the nation.

In response to his remarkable victory, Hamza Khan, who had previously won the U-15 title at the British Junior Open Squash Championship in 2020, expressed his gratitude towards his coach, managers, and parents for their unwavering support. He acknowledged their contributions in shaping his journey to becoming the World Junior Squash Champion in 2023.
