Security forces killed six suspected militants during an intelligence-led operation in Balochistan, security sources said.
The operation took place in the Saran Tangi area under Operation Shaaban-II. According to security sources, forces also detained nine suspected individuals during the action.
Authorities recovered weapons and ammunition from the militants killed during the operation.
Nine Suspects Detained During Operation
Security sources said intelligence reports helped forces locate the suspected militants. The operation then targeted the group in the Saran Tangi area.
Officials described the suspects as members of the group referred to by Pakistani authorities as Fitna al-Hindustan.
The detained individuals remain under investigation. Authorities are working to determine their alleged links and activities.
Operation Follows Deadly Hangu Clash
The Balochistan operation came one day after a deadly security clash in Hangu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to security sources, six Pakistan Army personnel died during the exchange of fire. The clash also killed eight militants, whom authorities identified as members of the group they call Fitna al-Khawarij.
The latest operations come amid continued militant violence in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
KP and Balochistan Remain Key Violence Hotspots
A Centre for Research and Security Studies report identified KP and Balochistan as Pakistan’s main violence-affected regions during the second quarter of 2026.
The report recorded 475 violence-related deaths in KP. Balochistan reported 265 deaths during the same period.
Together, the two provinces accounted for nearly 96% of violence-related fatalities recorded across Pakistan during the quarter.
KP also recorded 151 violent incidents. Balochistan reported 94 incidents, according to the report.
