Court Seeks Sealed Answer Sheets
The Sindh High Court has issued a major order in petitions challenging the Sindh Public Service Commission examination results.
The case relates to the Combined Competitive Examination 2024.
The court directed that candidatesโ answer sheets and relevant records be obtained, sealed and presented before the bench.
A written order of the hearing held in Karachi has also been issued.
According to the order, the Sessions Judge Hyderabad has been directed to collect the written examination papers from the Sindh Public Service Commission.
The record must be sealed and produced through a court representative at the next hearing.
Petitioners Challenge Failure Grounds
The petitioners have argued that they were declared failed on weak and unreasonable grounds.
They maintained that court scrutiny of the answer sheets is necessary to meet the requirements of justice.
The applicants requested the court to examine the written papers and related record to determine whether the results were properly prepared.
The high court also clarified that the sealed record will be opened later only in the presence of a magistrate appointed by the court.
The order is being viewed as an important development in the ongoing dispute over the SPSC examination results.
SPSC Denies Malice in Results
The Sindh Public Service Commission rejected the allegations raised by the petitioners.
The commission maintained that all candidates were declared failed strictly on merit.
It also denied any element of malice or unfair treatment in the examination results.
During the hearing, the court allowed two more candidates to become parties to the case.
The Sindh High Court directed the SPSC, relevant authorities and the Advocate General to fully cooperate in the proceedings.
The court also ordered MIT-II of the High Court to ensure implementation of its directions.
The next hearing is expected to focus on the sealed examination record and whether further scrutiny is required.
