Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah and reaffirmed strong bilateral ties, the Prime Ministerโs Office said. The two leaders held a nearly two-hour meeting and discussed regional developments, mutual interests, and ongoing cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, Shehbaz expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia amid recent regional tensions. He stated that the people of Pakistan stand firmly with the Kingdom and conveyed condolences over the loss of lives. Moreover, he praised the Crown Princeโs leadership, highlighting what he described as the Kingdomโs patience and restraint during the crisis.
In addition, Shehbaz shared updates on Pakistanโs diplomatic efforts, including initiatives linked to the USโIran ceasefire and recent talks hosted in Islamabad. He emphasized Pakistanโs role in promoting dialogue and peace in the region. Meanwhile, both sides exchanged views on broader geopolitical challenges and agreed to maintain close coordination.
The prime minister also underscored the importance of the PakistanโSaudi Arabia Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement. He noted that both countries continue to act as strategic defence partners. Furthermore, he expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabiaโs ongoing economic support, calling it vital for Pakistanโs financial stability.
Earlier, Shehbaz arrived in Jeddah with a high-level delegation and received a warm welcome from senior Saudi officials. The visit reflects continued diplomatic engagement between the two nations.
Both leaders concluded the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors.
