Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar has responded strongly to actress Momina Iqbal amid their ongoing legal dispute. His remarks came after the Lahore High Court set aside a lower court order directing police to register a case against Iqbal’s sister, Ramsha Iqbal.
Chadhar described the latest development as a setback for the opposing side and claimed that the “aurat card” had failed. However, the dispute remains unresolved as both sides continue to present conflicting accounts in several legal proceedings.
Lahore High Court Gives Relief to Ramsha
The Lahore High Court accepted Ramsha Iqbal’s appeal and overturned the order requiring authorities to register a case against her. The case involved allegations surrounding Rs8 million deposited into Ramsha’s bank account at different times.
During earlier proceedings, Chadhar’s lawyer told the court that the money had been deposited because Ramsha planned to travel abroad and needed funds to show in her bank statement. Ramsha, however, maintained that she had withdrawn the money in 2022.
The court also questioned whether the amount represented a loan or a trust deposit. After hearing arguments from both sides, Justice Abher Gul Khan set aside the decision directing case registration.
Legal Dispute Between Chadhar and Momina Continues
The latest ruling forms part of a wider dispute between Chadhar and Momina Iqbal. The actress previously accused the lawmaker of harassment, threats and blackmail, while Chadhar has repeatedly rejected her allegations.
Meanwhile, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has continued examining the allegations and digital evidence submitted by both sides. Momina has maintained that the investigation should continue, while Chadhar has described the allegations as false and baseless.
The latest court decision gives Ramsha significant legal relief, although the broader dispute involving Momina and Chadhar remains subject to ongoing legal proceedings.
