Google’s Android 17 update is expanding across smartphones from Samsung, OnePlus, Nothing, Motorola and Realme. While Google released the software for supported Pixel devices in June 2026, other manufacturers are following separate rollout schedules.
According to TechRepublic’s November 4 update tracker, several devices have already started receiving the new software. However, some eligible smartphones may have to wait until 2027.
Which Smartphones Are Eligible for Android 17?
Google’s supported lineup includes Pixel 6 through Pixel 11 series, the original Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet.
Samsung is extending Android 17 through its One UI 9 interface. Eligible devices include the Galaxy S26, S25, S24 and S23 series, along with selected Galaxy Z Fold, Z Flip and Galaxy A models.
OnePlus is distributing the update through ColorOS 17. The eligible lineup includes the OnePlus 15, 15R, 13 series, 12, 11 and selected Nord smartphones.
Meanwhile, Nothing is expanding Nothing OS 5 across supported Phone and CMF devices. Motorola is also updating selected Razr and Edge models. Realme’s rollout covers selected GT, number-series, P-series and Narzo smartphones.
What New Features Does Android 17 Bring?
Android 17 focuses on multitasking, privacy, security and improved performance.
One major addition is app bubbles, which allow users to keep applications accessible while switching between tasks. The update also introduces more selective location and contact-sharing controls.
Another feature, Screen Reactions, lets users record their reactions through the front-facing camera while capturing their screens.
Google has also introduced memory-management improvements and changes to background audio and Bluetooth behaviour.
When Will Your Phone Receive the Update?
Rollout schedules differ across manufacturers. Some OnePlus and Samsung devices are already receiving updates, while selected Nothing and Realme models have schedules extending into early 2027.
Users can check availability through Settings and their phone’s Software Update section.
However, eligibility does not guarantee immediate access. Regional restrictions, carriers and individual device variants can affect release dates.
