Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has highlighted new efforts to improve parks and recreational facilities in Rawalpindi.
He said the government wants to provide residents with safe spaces for recreation and healthy activities. He also stressed the need to create secure environments for women and children.
Hanif Abbasi made the remarks while inaugurating Allama Iqbal Park and Milad Park.
MNA Tahira Aurangzeb, Punjab Parliamentary Secretary Ziaullah Shah and MPA Asma Naz Abbasi attended the ceremonies. Several PML-N workers also joined the events.
New Parks Focus on Safety
Hanif Abbasi said the new parks would provide better recreational opportunities for local residents.
He added that authorities had installed surveillance cameras at the parks. The security arrangements will focus on protecting women and children.
The federal minister also stressed the importance of sports and recreation. He said healthy activities can help build a healthier and progressive society.
Rawalpindi Development Projects Underway
Hanif Abbasi said the government was also working to resolve basic civic issues across Rawalpindi.
These issues include gas, water, electricity and sewerage problems. He said authorities were replacing old pipelines in several areas.
The government has also started street and road rehabilitation projects across the city. Hanif Abbasi said officials were working to speed up development in different constituencies and union councils.
Government Highlights Public Welfare Projects
The federal minister said several public welfare projects had already been completed in Rawalpindi.
He credited Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for giving special attention to the city’s development.
Hanif Abbasi said more projects remain underway. These initiatives aim to improve transport, recreation and basic civic services.
He added that the government would continue using available resources to improve facilities for Rawalpindi residents.
Hanif Abbasi Praises Pakistan Army
During his address, Hanif Abbasi also described Pakistan as a peaceful and secure country.
He credited the Pakistan Army for helping maintain national security. The minister said the government would continue working on development and public welfare projects across Rawalpindi.
