PTI Leader Asad Qaiser Announces Street Movement to Protest Alleged Mandate Theft in Elections

Asad Qaiser

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser announced plans to launch a movement against what they perceive as the “stealing” of their mandate in the February 8 elections.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Qaiser stated that the PTI would unite all political forces and initiate a movement within the framework of the law and Constitution.

The plan involves taking to the streets in all provinces to press for their demands, and Qaiser emphasized that the movement would be peaceful but resolute.

Claiming that their mandate was stolen, Qaiser cited discrepancies between the results on Form 45 and Form 47. He asserted that the PTI’s struggle is not merely for political gain but for the nation, expressing concern about the judiciary’s independence and calling for decisions free from external pressures.

Qaiser demanded that all institutions stay within their constitutional limits and advocated for judicial freedom.

The PTI leader highlighted the party’s condemnation of the events on May 9 and called for the formation of a judicial commission to investigate them.

Qaiser questioned the ability of a “fake” prime minister to lead the country out of crises and stressed the importance of governance in accordance with the law and constitution.

This announcement comes in the aftermath of the February elections, where no political party secured a simple majority, leading to allegations of rigging and rejection of the results by multiple parties, including the PTI, JUI-F, and JI.

The political landscape remains tense, with ongoing protests and calls for investigations into the electoral process.
