Sri Lanka have announced a 15-member squad for their upcoming two-Test series against Pakistan, with Kusal Mendis appointed captain for the tour beginning November 9, 2026.
The series will open at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and forms part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025–2027 cycle. The squad includes experienced players alongside emerging talent, as Sri Lanka prepare for a challenging assignment on Pakistani soil.
Kusal Mendis to Lead Sri Lanka
Mendis will take charge of the Test side following Dhananjaya de Silva’s decision to step down from the captaincy. The leadership change gives Mendis responsibility for guiding Sri Lanka through the two-match series.
De Silva remains part of the squad, bringing his experience to the team’s middle order. His continued selection also provides leadership support during the transition.
Anjala Bandara Earns Maiden Test Call-Up
Wicketkeeper-batter Anjala Bandara has received his first Test call-up after being included in the 15-member squad. His selection offers an opportunity to establish himself at the international level.
Pathum Nissanka has also been named, but his participation depends on medical clearance. Sri Lanka Cricket said he would travel with the team only if declared fit.
