ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah held a crucial meeting in Islamabad and discussed the Middle East crisis and bilateral cooperation.
According to the Foreign Office, the two officials held a warm and productive meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
They reviewed Pakistan-Kuwait relations and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the longstanding partnership between the two countries.
Moreover, they discussed regional and international developments, with particular attention to the evolving situation in the Middle East and Palestine.
Later, Dar and the Kuwaiti foreign minister co-chaired delegation-level talks between the two countries.
During the talks, both sides discussed ways to expand cooperation in trade, investment, energy and labour.
They also explored greater collaboration in agriculture, information technology, healthcare, mining, minerals, defence and broader economic partnerships.
Furthermore, the two sides agreed to strengthen institutional links and maintain regular high-level exchanges to improve bilateral cooperation.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to coordinating closely at multilateral forums on matters of mutual interest.
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti foreign minister thanked Pakistan’s government and people for their warm welcome and hospitality.
He also appreciated Pakistan’s support for Kuwait during the Covid-19 pandemic, when Pakistan provided medical workers at Kuwait’s request.
Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to its close relations with Kuwait and expressed interest in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
The Kuwaiti minister also appreciated Pakistan’s constructive efforts to promote regional peace and stability.
The visiting foreign minister arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday at Dar’s invitation.
According to the Foreign Office, his visit reflects the strong ties between Pakistan and Kuwait, built on shared history, mutual trust and close cooperation.
The visit comes as both countries seek closer coordination on regional developments and broader bilateral interests.
