Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan continues to gain international recognition as a promoter of peace and regional stability.
He made these remarks while addressing the commissioning parade of the 125th Midshipmen and 33rd Short Service Commission Course at the Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi.
During his address, the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistanโs commitment to maintaining peace while continuing efforts against terrorism.
According to him, the country remains focused on promoting stability through diplomatic engagement and strong national institutions.
He stated that Pakistan is recognised globally as a “flag-bearer of peace”.
Prime Minister Highlights Pakistanโs Role in Recent Diplomatic Efforts
While discussing regional developments, the prime minister referred to the recent understanding reached between Iran and the United States.
He described the development as a matter of pride for Pakistan.
The agreement, signed in Switzerlandโs Burgenstock on June 17, was presented as an outcome supported through Pakistanโs diplomatic engagement.
Moreover, the prime minister acknowledged the role played by military leadership in advancing peace efforts.
He praised Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for continued efforts aimed at supporting regional peace.
At the same time, he appreciated friendly countries that contributed to facilitating the memorandum of understanding.
Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment Against Terrorism
The prime minister also addressed security challenges facing the country.
He said Pakistan continues to confront terrorism supported from outside its borders.
However, he stressed that the countryโs armed forces remain committed to overcoming the threat.
According to the prime minister, national institutions continue working to ensure long-term security and stability.
He said Pakistan remains determined in its efforts to eliminate terrorism.
Pakistan Navy Receives Appreciation During Ceremony
During the ceremony, the prime minister praised the Pakistan Navy and highlighted its contribution during Marka-e-Haq.
He added that the government is taking further measures to strengthen naval capabilities.
In addition, he congratulated graduating cadets and officers for completing their training.
He also welcomed the participation of cadets from friendly countries and described their presence as encouraging.
According to him, international participation reflects growing cooperation and professional exchange.
Awards Presented to Outstanding Cadets
Several officers and cadets received awards during the ceremony in recognition of their performance.
Midshipman Umar Mukhtar received the Sword of Honour for overall best performance.
Meanwhile, Midshipman Hadi Abbas Khan was awarded the Academy Dirk.
Officer Cadet Hafiz Muhammad Ahmad Munawwar received the Chief of Defence Forces Gold Medal.
Officer Cadet Alveera Hamza from the Short Service Commission Course received the Commandant’s Gold Medal.
The prime minister later inspected the parade and received a Guard of Honour.
Senior military officials, dignitaries, federal ministers, and families of graduating officers attended the ceremony.
The event concluded with recognition of the graduating class and renewed emphasis on national service, professional excellence, and regional cooperation.
