Pakistan’s volleyball team started its Asian Games campaign with a 3-1 victory over Kazakhstan on Sunday. The team dominated the opening sets and maintained its composure to secure an impressive tournament start.
Pakistan controlled the first set and secured a 25-16 victory. The team continued its strong performance in the second set, winning 25-22 to establish a 2-0 lead.
Pakistan Secure Victory After Kazakhstan Fightback
Kazakhstan responded strongly in the third set and reduced Pakistan’s advantage. The Central Asian side won the set 25-17 and gave itself a chance to level the match.
However, Pakistan regained control in the fourth set and avoided a deciding fifth set. The national team won 25-20 to complete a 3-1 victory and begin its Asian Games campaign on a winning note.
Pakistan will now face Uzbekistan in its next match on Monday. The team will aim to maintain its momentum and secure another victory in the tournament.
Rabia Kabir Finishes 41st in Shooting
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Rabia Kabir competed in the women’s 25-metre rapid-fire shooting event at the Asian Games. She finished 41st among 44 shooters in the competition.
Kabir’s result came as Pakistan continued its participation across different sports at the Asian Games. The volleyball team, meanwhile, will turn its attention to the upcoming match against Uzbekistan.
