PESHAWAR: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has arrested a man for allegedly filming female staff members and passengers at Peshawar International Airport without their consent. Authorities say he uploaded the videos on TikTok using fake accounts.
Complaint triggers swift action
The Airports Security Force lodged a formal complaint after noticing suspicious activity. NCCIA teams acted quickly, registered a case, and took the suspect into custody. During the search, officers recovered two mobile phones from him. One device contained multiple videos recorded inside the airport along with active TikTok accounts linked to the objectionable uploads.
Moreover, investigators revealed that the accused secretly recorded female ASF personnel and women passengers in sensitive areas. He then shared the footage online, violating privacy rights and causing distress to the victims. Officials have now registered the case under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and continue to investigate the full extent of his activities.
Strong warning against digital misconduct
This kind of detention sends a message that such violations of personal privacy would not be tolerated at public places such as airports. Many women travelers as well as airport employees were pleased by this move in the hope that it would serve as an example for others to stop themselves from using their mobile phones to illegally record videos of women.
Moreover, it is being made sure that the accused would face legal actions. Cybercrime officers appealed to citizens to come forward with information if they found themselves facing such an act in order to take immediate measures.
