Three cops dismissed in Islamabad for harassing a family in F-11 sector

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police have taken strict action against three of their personnel found guilty of harassing a family in the federal capital.

According to a police spokesperson, the incident took place in Sector F-11, where members of the Dolphin Force stopped a family during snap checking and subjected them to harassment.

After the victims lodged a complaint with the Islamabad police, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Syed Ali Raza promptly took notice of the incident. He ordered an inquiry and suspended the accused officers.

Following the investigation, the three personnel—identified as Aqib, Ali Haider, and Talha—were found guilty of misconduct. “In light of the findings, all three officers involved were terminated from their jobs,” the police spokesperson confirmed.

DIG Operations Syed Ali Raza emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for the misuse of authority, reaffirming that such actions have no place within the police force.

Arms Cache Seized in Islamabad

In a separate development, Islamabad police intercepted a large cache of weapons being transported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Islamabad.

During a press conference at Tarnol Police Station, SSP Operations and Investigation Arslan Shahzeb revealed the details of the operation. Police confiscated:

  • 272 pistols of various calibers,
  • 20 advanced automatic rifles with magazines,
  • Over 23,000 rounds of ammunition,
  • 150 grams of ice (methamphetamine), and
  • 4.45 kilograms of heroin.

One suspect, who has a criminal record with eight cases registered across Punjab, was arrested in connection with the arms and drug haul. A case has been registered at Tarnol Police Station, and further investigations are ongoing.

SSP Arslan Shahzeb reiterated the police’s unwavering commitment to combating criminal activities and ensuring public safety. He emphasized that Islamabad police remain vigilant in their efforts to maintain peace and security in the federal capital.
