The Shawwal moon is highly likely to be sighted in Pakistan today, with Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations expected to take place tomorrow.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast clear skies for moon sighting, indicating that the crescent will be easily visible. SUPARCO officials have also confirmed that the moon can be seen with the naked eye.
The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet at 6 PM, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, while zonal meetings will take place simultaneously in provincial capitals across the country.
The Awami National Party (ANP), which has a strong base in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has announced that it will celebrate Eid today.
In Saudi Arabia, the Shawwal moon has already been confirmed, with Eid-ul-Fitr being celebrated today. Gulf nations, including the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain, have also announced Eid for today.
However, countries such as Oman, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei did not sight the moon on Saturday, and Eid will be observed on Monday, March 31.
