Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is recovering well after sustaining multiple stab wounds during an attempted robbery at his Bandra residence in the early hours of January 16.
Doctors at Lilavati Hospital confirmed that his condition has significantly improved, and he has been moved from the ICU to a private room. A statement from his treating doctor reassured fans: “Saif Ali Khan’s condition is stable. He is feeling better and has been shifted to a special room. Visitors are restricted to prevent infection.”
Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, shared his experience of Saif’s arrival at the hospital. “When he came in, drenched in blood, he walked in with remarkable courage, accompanied only by his young son, Taimur. Saif Ali Khan is a real hero—not just on-screen but in real life too. He’s doing well now and has been moved to a regular room.” Dr. Nitin Dange added that although Saif’s recovery is progressing steadily, his movements remain limited due to a spinal injury.
The incident took place at 2:15 am when an intruder broke into the home shared by Saif and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The burglar attacked a member of their household staff, prompting Saif to intervene. He fought off the assailant bare-handed, sustaining multiple stab wounds in the process. His injuries narrowly avoided critical damage by just two millimeters.
During surgery, doctors removed a sharp-edged piece of a Hexa blade embedded in Saif’s body. The weapon has been seized by police as part of their investigation.
Despite the ordeal, Saif is showing remarkable resilience, and doctors are optimistic about his recovery.
Earlier today, the Mumbai Police arrested a suspect within 30 hours of the attack. A video of the accused being escorted to the Bandra police station is now circulating online. Investigations are ongoing, with more updates expected soon.
The attack, reportedly part of a burglary attempt at the ‘Satguru Sharan’ building, was partially captured on CCTV. Footage revealed the intruder entering the premises with a wooden stick and Hexa blade before escaping through a rear gate not covered by security cameras.
