ISLAMABAD: The Punjab government has launched a Green Biker Lane in Rawalpindi, requiring motorcycles to operate in designated lanes to improve traffic flow and reduce accidents.
The lane has been activated from Koral Chowk to Old Airport, and residents have welcomed the initiative, emphasizing the importance of following regulations for safer travel.
To ensure compliance, traffic police have been directed to enforce the rules, with strict legal consequences for violations. Meanwhile, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Director-General Kinza Murtaza announced that reflectors and signals will be installed along the lane, especially at turning points, to enhance visibility and safety.
In a similar effort to curb congestion, the Lahore administration has also introduced a dedicated motorcycle lane, aiming to streamline urban traffic in one of Pakistan’s busiest cities.
