PM Shehbaz Chairs Meeting on Preparations for FY 2023-24 Budget

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over a meeting to discuss the preparations for the budget for the financial year 2023-24.

Additionally, he issued a directive to expedite the finalization of pension reforms and establish a pension fund through innovative means.

The prime minister emphasized that the establishment of the fund would alleviate the strain on the national treasury while ensuring the optimal welfare of pensioners.

The PM emphasised the importance of taking practical action to increase revenues and broaden the tax base.

The Pakistani economy is moving towards reaching financial stability, with a continual decrease in the fiscal deficit, according to information provided during the conference.

It was also told that the federal cabinet had approved the upcoming fiscal year’s budget, which would be presented on June 9.
