Muslim World

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar underscored the crucial role of effectively harnessing the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) forum to address the challenges confronting the Muslim world. During meetings with ambassadors from various Muslim countries, including Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, and Palestine, PM Kakar expressed his concerns and emphasized the need for collective efforts within the OIC framework.

The discussions included active participation from ambassadors representing Saudi Arabia, Syria, the UAE, and Yemen. The Prime Minister specifically addressed the deteriorating human rights situation in Palestine, providing the ambassadors with insights into Pakistan’s stance on the matter.

In a separate event, Caretaker PM Kakar affirmed the safety and equal rights of all minorities in Pakistan during a Christmas event in Islamabad. Participating in cake-cutting festivities, he emphasized the sanctity of protecting religious places across diverse faiths and highlighted the Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) regard for a Christian delegation from Najran. Kakar referenced Quaid-e-Azam’s August 11 address, reiterating the founder’s commitment to safeguarding minority rights and ensuring freedom of worship.

Expanding on the inclusive ethos, Kakar reiterated the obligation to honor all Prophets from Adam to Muhammad, emphasizing Quaid-e-Azam’s visionary establishment of an independent Muslim state amidst the rising Hindutva ideology.

While emphasizing freedom of expression and discouraging the spread of hatred, Kakar commended the Christian community for its remarkable contributions to education and healthcare, acknowledging their invaluable services to the nation. The caretaker Prime Minister’s engagements reflect a commitment to diplomatic collaboration within the OIC and a dedication to upholding the rights and well-being of minorities in Pakistan.
