New Drug Charges Filed Against Suspect in Karachi Karasaz Road Accident
The suspect in the Karachi Karasaz road accident has been charged with drug-related offenses under the Prohibition of Narcotic Substances Act. The First Information Report (FIR) reveals that the suspect, Natasha Iqbal, was under the influence of methamphetamine, commonly known as ice, at the time of the accident.
According to the FIR, filed by Sub-Inspector Rehan Khan, Natasha Iqbal, who is currently in jail on a 14-day judicial remand related to the accident, has been accused of driving under the influence of methamphetamine. Medical tests, including blood and urine samples, confirmed the presence of the drug.
The new charges, filed under Section 11 of the Prohibition of Narcotic Substances Act, follow the initial investigation which found that the suspect was intoxicated when she lost control of her vehicle on August 19, causing a collision that resulted in two fatalities and seven injuries.
The police have been granted permission to further investigate Natasha for drug-related offenses, adding to the seriousness of the charges against her.
