KARACHI/LAHORE: Marking the splendid commemoration of the 76th Independence Day on August 14, a grand display of honor and reverence unfolded at the revered mausoleums of Pakistan’s visionary founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and the esteemed poet-philosopher, Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
The day began with a 31-gun salute resonating in the federal capital. A corresponding 21-gun salute echoed in provincial headquarters.
With a harmonious blend of discipline, the mausoleums of Jinnah and Iqbal witnessed a ceremonial changing of the guards. Adorned in impeccable uniforms, cadets from the distinguished Pakistan Naval Academy assumed their positions. They embodied the cherished values of tradition and pride that the nation holds dear.
The atmosphere brimmed with their resolute dedication as they undertook the honor of guarding the final resting places of those who had sowed the seeds of Pakistan’s existence.
At the mausoleum in Karachi, Commodore Muhammad Khalid, Commandant of the Pakistan Naval Academy, graced the occasion as the esteemed chief guest.
A profound floral wreath was laid at Jinnah’s resting place. Each petal carried a silent reiteration of commitment, affirming that the spirit of unity and resilience shall remain unwavering.
Meanwhile, Lahore radiated with a similar ardor as a contingent from the Pakistan Army took their positions around the Mazar-e-Iqbal.
Division Major General Qaiser Suleman led the graceful exchange of guards at the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal. With respect and admiration, he placed a wreath, embodying the generations’ nurtured reverence for the revered poet-philosopher.
