COAS says efforts to drive a wedge between the army and the nation will not succeed

KAKUL: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Asim Munir, has emphasized the importance of rejecting propaganda that aims to spread despair among the nation. He expressed that efforts to create divisions between the military and the people will not succeed. These remarks were made during his address at the Azadi Parade held at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul on the eve of Independence Day.

“I extend my congratulations to all of you on the completion of 76 years of Independence and for commemorating the 14th of August with the esteemed tradition of a flawless and inspiring parade at the Pakistan Military Academy,” stated the army chief as he commenced his speech.

Pakistan, he noted, is currently navigating through an intriguing period marked by challenges, geopolitical complexities, increasing power dynamics, dominance-seeking behaviors, and aggressive nationalism.

General Munir asserted that despite the attempts by adversarial forces – forces seeking instability and disorder – Pakistan has consistently thwarted their malevolent intentions. These forces have persistently strived to undo Pakistan but have failed.

“In the words of our revered Quaid, ‘There is no power on earth that can undo Pakistan’ – God willing. We have confronted both external and internal adversaries for a considerable time. We are prepared to continue doing so in the future. As I have emphasized on multiple occasions, we possess the determination, capacity, and capability to confront any challenges. These challenges may originate externally or internally,” he added.

The army chief reassured the populace that the military is unwavering in its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“Whenever necessary, we will contribute to Pakistan’s comprehensive national security and its efforts towards national development. The Pakistan Army, as a unifying force, takes immense pride in its unwavering dedication to the people of Pakistan.”

He further stated, “Efforts to drive a wedge between the army and the nation are condemnable. The efforts will ultimately prove unsuccessful.”

Nurturing Ambitious Youth in the Face of Challenges

Pakistan is home to a diverse population of over 240 million, with a significant portion comprising ambitious and diligent youth.

“I urge you to reject feelings of hopelessness and the negative propaganda of pessimists. Do not follow the fear-inducing messages of those attempting unsuccessfully to sow despair. This great nation and its people have encountered numerous challenges since its inception and have emerged stronger each time. No country or people have achieved success without facing such challenges along their journey.”
