Police Arrest Two Government Employees in Connection with DHA Restaurant Attack

Police have arrested two individuals, Mansoor and Muhammad Hassan, in relation to a violent attack on a restaurant in Karachi’s Defence area. The incident, which occurred during an anti-Israel protest, saw angry demonstrators vandalize two international fast-food outlets.

According to a complaint filed by Shahzaib, an employee at one of the affected restaurants, a group of protesters armed with sticks approached the establishment. The group caused significant damage by smashing windows, destroying furniture, and breaking a television inside the restaurant.

Shahzaib further reported that the group also targeted a nearby pizza franchise, smashing its windows. When police arrived at the scene, the group quickly fled.

The police have named Mansoor and Muhammad Hassan, along with 30 to 35 other individuals, in the case. They face charges of rioting, property damage, and other related offenses.

The protests were reportedly fueled by ongoing violence against Palestinians and took place near the Khayaban-e-Ittehad traffic signal in Defence Phase II, where the KFC and Domino’s franchises were targeted. Police were called in to manage the situation and prevent further escalation.
