army chief General Asim Munir visits Kaaba, meets Saudi Crown Prince

Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir visited holy Kaaba and Masjid Nabvi on Sunday. Saudi authorities opened the doors of holy Kaaba for COAS General Asim Munir.

Army chief of Pakistan is currently on an official visit to Saudi Arabia.

Army chief also held an important meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman and discussed with him bilateral cooperation. According to media reports, Saudi Crown Prince congratulated the COAS for his appointment.

Some pictures and videos shared on social media on Sunday show the army chief General Syed Asim Munir coming out of the Holy Kaaba at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

General Syed Asim Munir also visited Masjid-e-Nabwi. It is the second-holiest mosque in Islam. In the videos, Saudi security personnel are seen escorting the military commander of Pakistan.

Earlier, the COAS met the Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman and Saudi Defence Minister and discussed with them issues of bilateral interests.

Meanwhile, according to ISPR, the COAS is visiting Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from January 4 to 10.

“The COAS will be meeting the senior leadership of both brotherly countries to discuss matters of mutual interest, military-to-military cooperation and bilateral relations, focusing on security-related subjects,” ISPR added.
