16 terrorists were shot dead in attempt to enter Pakistan via Afghan border: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security forces thwarted an infiltration attempt by militants at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, eliminating all 16 terrorists in a fierce exchange of fire.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attempt occurred during the night between 22 and 23 March in the Ghulam Khan Kili area of North Waziristan.

Security forces monitored the movement of a group of insurgents attempting to cross the border and responded with an immediate and effective operation.

The ISPR spokesperson stated that security forces engaged in heavy gunfire with the infiltrators, neutralising all 16 militants.

Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Afghan interim government to ensure effective border management and prevent its territory from being used for terrorist activities against Pakistan.
