LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has allowed child Mirza Azfar Jalees Baig to remain with his grandparents and father after police recovered him.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamiana presented the child before the court in a case related to a Justice of Peace order.
The court heard the petition filed by Asia Rashid regarding the child’s recovery and the registration of a case.
Child Expresses Wish to Stay with Grandparents
During the hearing, Mirza Azfar Jalees Baig refused to go with his mother.
The child told the court that he wanted to stay with his grandparents.
After hearing the child’s statement, the court allowed him to remain with his grandparents and father.
The decision followed the recovery of the child by Lahore police officials.
Court Cancels Case Registration Order
The court also cancelled the Justice of Peace’s order that directed police to register a case against the child’s grandfather, grandmother, and father.
Justice Abhar Gul Khan heard the application submitted by Asia Rashid.
The child’s grandmother had challenged the earlier order in the Lahore High Court.
Following the court’s decision, the petition regarding the child’s recovery and case registration was disposed of.
CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamiana and DIG Operations Faisal Kamran appeared before the court during the hearing.
