A harrowing account emerged when a man, witnessing the brutal murder of his 22-year-old sister Maria at the hands of another brother in front of their family, revealed shocking details of the gruesome incident.
Shahbaz, alongside his sister-in-law, bravely shared that Maria had confided in the family about being raped by someone. Despite this vulnerable disclosure, rather than offering support, Maria’s father and brother colluded to silence her permanently, illustrating a grievous betrayal of trust and a tragic abandonment of familial duty.
“After iftar, my sister approached me, revealing the horrifying ordeal she had endured. Despite my pleas, my father and brother proceeded to execute Maria right before my eyes,” Shahbaz recounted, his voice laden with anguish.
He further recounted his futile attempt to intervene, only to face threats of harm to his own daughters from his brother and father. Desperate to document the atrocity, Shahbaz clandestinely recorded the murder on his mobile phone, feigning a conversation to avoid suspicion.
Urging the police to register the case based on his complaint rather than on behalf of the state, Shahbaz emphasized the urgency of justice for Maria.
Narrating the scene upon their arrival, Maria’s sister-in-law described how Maria was found with her hands and feet bound.
Meanwhile, authorities have apprehended two primary suspects, and a case has been officially filed. A police spokesperson confirmed that Maria, aged 22, was strangled to death by her brother and father during the midnight hours of March 17 and 18. Following the heinous act, the family clandestinely buried Maria, concealing the ghastly crime.
