In preparation for the upcoming elections, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) unveiled its strategic Plan ‘B’ on Saturday. This initiative involves fielding candidates under the newly introduced banner of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Nazriati (PTI-N), as a contingency measure to ensure representation in case primary ticket candidates encounter difficulties.
As part of Plan ‘B’, PTI has directed candidates to submit tickets using both the standard PTI banner and the additional PTI-N banner. The party has chosen the officially registered PTI-N as its supplementary entity for this unique electoral approach.
Insiders disclosed that PTI has already issued party tickets to two candidates for both the National and Provincial Assembly elections. One ticket is issued in the name of PTI, while the other carries the designation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Ideology. The chairman of Tehreek-e-Insaf Ideology is identified as Akhtar Iqbal Dar.
In the event of challenges or a lack of support for Tehreek-e-Insaf, candidates associated with Tehreek-e-Insaf Ideology will be brought into play, ensuring the party’s presence in the electoral arena.
Candidates have been instructed to submit Tehreek-e-Insaf Ideology tickets to the Returning Officers’ office and obtain a receipt. PTI has advised candidates to promptly lodge complaints via email to the District, Provincial, and Central Election Commission if they encounter hindrances such as non-submission of tickets or face obstruction from the police or Returning Officers.
Additionally, candidates are encouraged to file written complaints with district and provincial election commissioners, seek assistance from the police, submit petitions in the High Court, or utilize social media platforms to bring attention to any grievances. All relevant evidence and requests are to be communicated to the party.
