PM Imran to expose encroaching politicians soon

In a recent statement by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the nation was informed that politicians who have encroached upon state land will soon be exposed. In the same breath, he also mentioned how the government was being pressurized for an NRO.

Speaking to a private television channel, the Prime Minister expressed confidence in his party’s win in the upcoming Senate elections.

“Insha Allah, we are hopeful…all legislation is stuck up there (in Senate). We faced the utmost difficulty during the last two years. Every law used to stick up in Senate, as we didn’t have a majority.”

He said.

He further mentioned that it was crucial for the opposition and government to work together in a democratic setting and although it was the responsibility of the government to enact reforms, it could not be done so due to lack of majority in both houses.

He also specified that the opposition’s criticism of the open ballot was their strategy to deprive the ruling party of their majority in the upper house.

“They are just trying to pressurize the government… Their only effort is to get the relief in form of NRO.”

He added.

The prime minister said what kind of message the parliamentarians would give who would sell or buy loyalties in the Senate election.

“When the parliamentarians, at the helm, would bribe to buy or sell votes, how could they forbid an SHO or Patwari for doing the same? Corruption is starting from them.”

He added.
