Fake Passports
Five Afghan nationals faced offloading from an overseas flight at Peshawar airport due to the possession of fake passports, on Sunday.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration officials intercepted an Afghan woman and her four children who were bound for the UK, citing fraudulent documents as the cause for their removal from the flight.
According to the FIA spokesperson, the Afghan nationals had entered Pakistan illegally and acquired their passports through an agent, only to have them deemed counterfeit by the Afghan Consulate.
This incident underscores the challenges posed by illegal immigration and the use of forged documents to facilitate travel across international borders.
In a separate incident at Karachi airport, the FIA took action against a passenger named Tauseef Ahmed, who was attempting to board an overseas flight using fake travel papers.
The individual was found to possess a counterfeit visa for Japan on his passport, prompting his offloading from the flight and subsequent transfer to the FIA’s anti-human trafficking cell in Karachi for further investigation.
These cases highlight the vigilance of immigration authorities in identifying and thwarting attempts at travel fraud and illegal migration.
Such efforts are crucial in safeguarding national security and maintaining the integrity of international travel protocols.
Preceding these incidents, nine individuals suspected of disguising themselves as Umrah pilgrims were intercepted and offloaded at Multan airport while attempting to travel to Saudi Arabia.
This serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat various forms of travel-related fraud and illicit activities, underscoring the importance of robust border control measures and coordinated enforcement actions.
