Terrorists
LAHORE: Four individuals suspected of involvement in the killing of policemen met their demise in a dramatic confrontation with law enforcement, citing statements from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).
The sequence of events unfolded during a mission to recover weapons in the Karol Jungle area, where Faizan Butt was identified among the detained suspects. The team successfully seized two pistols and hand grenades during this operation.
However, the situation quickly escalated when a group of five to six armed assailants ambushed the police party, initiating a deadly exchange of gunfire.
In the ensuing chaos, four of the attackers were fatally shot. Faizan Butt’s association with a proscribed organization was confirmed by the CTD spokesperson, while efforts to identify the remaining deceased suspects were ongoing.
Subsequently, a search operation was launched to capture any fleeing terrorists in the vicinity.
This incident follows a recent operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Quetta, where four militants were eliminated in a decisive engagement.
According to the CTD spokesperson, the confrontation began when a police mobile unit encountered four armed terrorists in Sialkot. Amidst the intense firefight, one assailant was swiftly neutralized by CTD forces.
However, three others attempted to evade capture on a motorcycle, eventually seeking refuge in a building situated in the Kili Zarin area.
The relentless efforts of law enforcement agencies underscore their commitment to combating terrorism and maintaining public safety.
These operations serve as a testament to the ongoing struggle against militant elements, highlighting the bravery and dedication of security personnel in safeguarding communities against threats posed by terrorism.
