ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan government has actively issued INTERPOL Red Notices for former model and actress Sophia Mirza (also known as Khushbakht Mirza) and her sister Mariam Mirza.

Sophia and Mariam, who have been living in London for several months, are facing Red Notices issued by the Ministry of Interior in Pakistan. These notices pertain to cases registered against them by Umar Farooq Zahoor, a Dubai-based businessman, regarding a custody dispute over two teenage daughters.
The FIA has requested INTERPOL to issue Red Notices for their arrest. Sophia Mirza is listed under Notice number 2023/66146, and Mariam Mirza is listed under notice number 2023/66156.
The Red Notices are related to a criminal complaint filed against Shehzad Akbar, Sophia Mirza, Mariam Mirza, and others, accusing them of registering false cases against Umar Farooq Zahoor when Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) was in power. The complaint includes various charges such as cheating, forgery, extortion, defamation, and criminal intimidation.
The investigation revealed that these allegations were baseless, leading to the cancellation of the relevant FIRs. Umar Farooq Zahoor alleged that Sophia and her associates attempted to extort money from him and used their government connections within the PTI administration.
Sophia Mirza, when contacted, claimed to be unaware of the Red Notices issued by the Ministry of Interior of Pakistan.
