LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: In Lahore, the police apprehended the leader of a gang responsible for robbing an Indian Sikh family under the guise of security personnel just last week.

This Sikh family had traveled from India to partake in the Guru Nanak birth anniversary celebrations.

During a shopping trip to Liberty Market in Lahore’s Gulberg area, they were stopped by individuals posing as police officers for supposed security clearance.

These imposters then proceeded to rob the family of Indian rupees 250,000, PKR 150,000, and jewelry.

The authorities stated that they have successfully arrested the main orchestrator of this gang, identified as Ahmad Raza.

Punjab’s caretaker Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, has requested a detailed report from the Lahore police chief regarding this incident.

Naqvi has emphasized the urgency of bringing the culprits to justice within 48 hours, highlighting the severity of such a security breach in an area like Gulberg, especially targeting a Sikh family.
