After several years in Sri Lankan custody, 56 Pakistani prisoners are set to return to Pakistan today. A special aircraft has been dispatched by the Ministry of Interior to bring them home, following three months of communication between Pakistani and Sri Lankan officials regarding their repatriation.
The Federal Minister for Privatization, Abdul Aleem Khan, is covering the expenses for the prisoners’ return. The Ministry of Interior expressed gratitude to the Sri Lankan government for its assistance in ensuring the prisoners’ safe return to Pakistan. Additionally, Interior Minister expressed appreciation towards Abdul Aleem Khan for generously funding the mission.
The Ministry of Interior’s statement confirmed that they have been working closely with Sri Lankan authorities to finalize this process. This initiative demonstrates a collaborative effort between the two nations, showcasing the effective diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The repatriation reflects Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of its citizens abroad, ensuring they are provided with necessary assistance when needed.
