Double-Murder
LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: The Punjab Police apprehended the individual dubbed as the Pakistani ‘Charles Sobhraj,’ involved in a double-murder who had evaded authorities in Pakistan, successfully concealing his identity across multiple countries, including Holland and South Africa.
The Proclaimed Offender (PO) was captured in Italy after 17 years, thanks to Interpol’s involvement in the murder case.

Abrar, the accused, had committed the double homicide in Gujranwala in 2006 alongside his accomplices before fleeing abroad. Following the crime, he initially sought refuge in South Africa and later in Holland, according to police reports.
The apprehension occurred after Punjab Police issued a red notice through Interpol. This year alone, the tally of individuals apprehended from foreign countries has surged to 129, as stated by the police.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, a tragic incident unfolded in Kari Shah Noor, district Tank, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the loss of three police personnel, including an SHO, during an attack.
