Rs210 Million
KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has made significant revelations in the ongoing investigation of Armughan Qureshi, the main suspect in the high-profile Mustafa Amir murder case.
During a hearing before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) held inside Central Jail, FIA officials disclosed that Qureshi had allegedly laundered over Rs210 million using fraudulent bank accounts opened in the names of his employees.
FIA Assistant Director Shahid Ali and his team presented an investigative report to the court, outlining how Qureshi orchestrated a complex financial crime operation. According to the findings, the accused ran fake call centres aimed at scamming foreign nationals.
Funds generated through these illicit activities were funneled into merchant accounts created under bogus names. Investigators traced at least seven separate bank accounts, all linked to employees working under Qureshi, through which transactions totaling Rs210 million were conducted from January 2023 to September 2025.
The report also detailed how Qureshi used the illegally obtained money to make high-value purchases, particularly in the automotive sector. He reportedly bought luxury vehicles worth approximately Rs155 million. So far, the FIA has managed to seize two of these vehicles, with an estimated combined worth of Rs110 million.
In a potentially even more serious development, the FIA uncovered that Qureshi possessed two offline cryptocurrency wallets, specifically Exodus and Electrum. These wallets are suspected to contain substantial amounts of Bitcoin.
However, due to the absence of necessary passwords and private keys, authorities have been unable to access the digital assets stored within them.
During the proceedings, Armughan Qureshi was represented by Advocate Khurram Abbas Awan, who submitted an affidavit to the court. The FIA also submitted a medical report claiming that Qureshi was in good health.
However, his lawyer disputed the accuracy of this report, arguing that it does not reflect his client’s actual condition. The defense expressed intentions to challenge the medical findings in court.
The case, which has drawn significant public and media attention due to its connection with a high-profile murder and massive financial fraud, continues to unfold as the FIA deepens its investigation into Qureshi’s alleged criminal network.
