AirAsia Introduces Direct Karachi-Kuala Lumpur Flights, Offering Discounts

AirAsia X, the Malaysian budget airline, has officially commenced operations in Pakistan, marking a significant development in Pakistan-Malaysia travel connections. Direct flights from Karachi to Kuala Lumpur are set to begin on May 30.

The announcement was made at an inaugural event held in Karachi, attended by notable figures such as Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Hussain Shah, and Malaysian Consul General Herman Hardinata Ahmed, among others.

Governor Tessori welcomed the new route, emphasizing its role in strengthening Pakistan-Malaysia bilateral relations. “This added connectivity will not only enhance the people-to-people exchange but will also open avenues for tourism and business between the two nations,” he commented.

Benjamin Ismail, CEO of AirAsia X, revealed that the airline will operate four weekly round-trip flights—on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays—between Karachi and Kuala Lumpur. He also shared that the starting one-way ticket price will be Rs55,800, with a 20% discount available for early bookings.

The airline aims to serve over 100,000 passengers annually through its operations in Pakistan, providing cost-effective and quality travel options for both business and leisure travelers.

Earlier that day, Malaysian Consul General Herman Hardinata Ahmed and his team visited the Governor House in Karachi for discussions on boosting cooperation between Pakistan and Malaysia.
