The Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) has launched a crackdown on wedding halls operating without adequate parking facilities. Authorities have sealed six venues and arrested three people during the enforcement campaign.
The operation initially covered the Aziz Bhatti and Shalimar zones. Officials targeted wedding venues allowing guests to park vehicles illegally on green belts and service roads.
Authorities Seal Six Wedding Venues
A team led by MCL Deputy Director of Public Facilities conducted an operation along Raj Bahar Road. During the operation, authorities sealed Al Khalid, Abdullah, Al Fateh One, Al Fateh Two, Babul Wedding Hall and Shalimar Marquee.
Furthermore, officials registered a complaint at Baghbanpura Police Station regarding illegal parking on green belts. Police also arrested three people allegedly involved in the violations.
Authorities carried out the operation on the instructions of the MCL Administrator and Chief Officer. The campaign aims to prevent wedding venues from occupying public spaces for vehicle parking.
MCL Warns Wedding Halls Against Violations
Meanwhile, Municipal Officer (Regulation) Jawad Ul Hassan Gondal warned that the enforcement campaign would continue. He said authorities would take strict action against venues violating parking regulations.
The administration will seal wedding halls and marquees found using green belts and service roads for parking. Moreover, officials will continue monitoring commercial venues to ensure compliance with municipal regulations.
The crackdown aims to protect public spaces and improve traffic movement across Lahore. Consequently, wedding hall owners must arrange proper parking facilities to avoid penalties and closures.
