Kuwaiti authorities have arrested six foreign nationals, including a woman, over alleged drug trafficking activities. The arrests followed investigations by the country’s General Department for Drug Control.
The suspects allegedly faced charges involving the sale, distribution and consumption of prohibited substances. Authorities referred all six individuals to the Public Prosecution for Narcotics and Alcohol.
Anti-narcotics officers conducted the operations after obtaining legal permission from prosecutors. They subsequently searched the suspects’ residences and recovered several illegal substances.
The arrests formed part of Kuwait’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and prevent prohibited substances from reaching communities.
Authorities Seize Narcotics and Drug Packaging Equipment
During the operations, officers recovered 415 grams of methamphetamine, commonly known as shabu. They also seized 175 sheets containing synthetic cannabinoids and 60 grams of hashish.
Furthermore, authorities confiscated illegal medicines and equipment allegedly used to divide and package narcotics. Officers also recovered 540 Kuwaiti dinars believed to represent proceeds from drug sales.
The seized items will form part of the legal proceedings against the suspects. Authorities have not publicly disclosed their identities or nationalities.
Kuwait Continues Crackdown on Drug-Related Crimes
The arrests highlight continued security efforts against drug trafficking and the distribution of prohibited substances. Kuwaiti authorities have repeatedly conducted operations targeting individuals suspected of involvement in illegal drug activities.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior has urged the public to report information about suspected drug traffickers. Officials stressed that public cooperation remains important in supporting law enforcement efforts.
The suspects will face further legal proceedings following their referral to the prosecution. Investigations and judicial processes will determine the outcome of the allegations.
