KARACHI: Karachi police successfully arrested a notorious female drug supplier on Tuesday. Authorities describe Anmol alias Pinki as a highly wanted suspect who ran a large narcotics network across the city.
Major raid yields weapons and drugs
A joint team from Garden Police Station and a civilian intelligence agency conducted the operation after midnight. Officers recovered one pistol, cocaine worth millions of rupees, along with chemicals and other narcotics from her possession. Police state that Pinki operated an organised and extensive network. She supplied drugs online in upscale areas like Clifton and DHA using designated riders, and even employed female riders to shield her operations from law enforcement.
Moreover, her customers reportedly included students and several prominent personalities. Investigators claim she sold narcotics worth hundreds of thousands of rupees every day through various channels. Police have now registered two FIRs against her under the Sindh Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 2024, and the Sindh Arms Act, 2013.
Controversy over court appearance
Police presented the accused in court to record her statement. A video of Pinki walking through the court corridor without handcuffs quickly went viral on social media. In the footage, she wore sunglasses and carried a water bottle while the investigating officer followed behind her.
Karachi Additional Inspector-General Azad Khan took vnotice of the incident after a private TV channel highlighted it. He immediately sought a detailed report from the South DIG and ordered an inquiry to fix responsibility. The AIG made it clear that all officers must follow the law and standard procedures. He warned that any negligence would not be tolerated.
This arrest marks a significant blow to the drug supply chain in Karachi. Residents hope such actions will curb the spread of narcotics, especially among young people. Authorities continue to investigate the full extent of her network as the case proceeds.
