An Islamabad court has declared Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Omar Ayub Khan a proclaimed offender in connection with the November 26 protest case.
The court also issued lifelong arrest warrants after the PTI leader repeatedly failed to appear despite multiple court summons.
The decision marks another legal development in the ongoing proceedings related to the protest held in the federal capital.
Court Issues Arrest Warrants After Repeated Non-Appearance
Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kundi heard the case on Saturday.
According to the court proceedings, Omar Ayub did not appear despite being summoned on multiple occasions. Consequently, the court declared him a proclaimed offender and issued lifelong arrest warrants.
The case has been registered at Islamabad’s Secretariat Police Station under various sections related to different alleged offences.
Case Linked to November 26 PTI Protest
The legal proceedings stem from the PTI protest held on November 26, 2024.
Several cases related to the demonstration are currently under hearing in different courts across Islamabad.
Authorities continue pursuing legal action in connection with the protest, while court proceedings remain ongoing.
Multiple Individuals Named in the FIRs
Besides Omar Ayub, several other individuals have also been nominated in the first information reports (FIRs) linked to the November 26 protest.
According to the available information, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is also among those named in the cases.
Meanwhile, the courts continue hearing multiple matters associated with the protest as the legal process moves forward.
