Xiaomi has announced the global rollout of its HyperOS 4 update, bringing a redesigned interface, improved performance and new AI-powered features to more than 80 smartphones and tablets. The Android 17-based update covers devices across Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco brands, with the rollout scheduled in three phases from November through December 2026.
The update also brings several improvements designed to make older smartphones feel newer without requiring users to purchase replacement devices.
Three Rollout Waves Cover More Than 80 Devices
Xiaomi has divided the global rollout into three stages. The first wave begins in early November and includes the Xiaomi 17 and 15 series, Redmi Note 15 and Note 17 families, Poco F8 and X8 lineups, and Xiaomi Pad 8 tablets.
The second phase starts in mid-November. It covers the Xiaomi 15T series, Poco F7 and F9 families, Xiaomi Pad 7 models and several Redmi and Poco tablets.
The final wave arrives in December, extending support to older models. These include the Xiaomi 13 and 14 series, Xiaomi 13T lineup, Redmi Note 14 family and Poco F6 series.
A Fresh Look With Faster Performance
HyperOS 4 introduces Xiaomi’s Soft Light Glass design, featuring translucent panels, redesigned notifications, customizable lock screens and larger clock widgets.
The update also improves multitasking through better floating-window support and app orientation controls.
Performance is another major focus. Xiaomi’s internal testing shows that launching 30 apps after nine hours of use takes 36.8 seconds on HyperOS 4, compared with 40.3 seconds on HyperOS 3.
AI Features Get a Major Upgrade
Xiaomi has also expanded its AI assistant through Super XiaoAi 2.0, powered by its MiMo language model.
The assistant can search photo libraries, organize schedules, control compatible smart home devices and identify products displayed on screens. However, some AI features remain limited to supported devices and China-specific software versions.
When Will Your Phone Receive the Update?
The rollout follows a phased schedule, so eligible users may not receive the update immediately. Availability will also depend on device models and regional software distribution.
Users can check for updates through their phone’s Settings menu. Xiaomi has not announced exact installation dates for individual devices.
