Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Sunday that talks and message exchanges between Tehran and Washington are continuing, while cautioning against drawing conclusions before negotiations reach a definitive outcome.
Speaking to state media, Araghchi stressed that speculation surrounding the negotiations should not be treated as fact. He said both sides remain engaged in discussions, but emphasized that any assessment of progress should wait until clear results emerge.
Furthermore, the foreign minister noted that ongoing contacts remain part of broader diplomatic efforts aimed at addressing key disputes between the two countries. His remarks come amid continued uncertainty over the future direction of negotiations and reports of disagreements over proposed terms.
Meanwhile, officials on both sides have remained largely cautious in their public comments, reflecting the sensitive nature of the discussions.
Iran Reaffirms Position as Efforts Continue Toward Potential Agreement
Earlier on Sunday, senior Iranian official Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf reiterated Tehran’s position that any future agreement must fully protect what Iran considers its national rights and interests.
His comments followed reports suggesting that US President Donald Trump had presented a revised proposal to Iranian negotiators. However, no official details regarding the reported proposal have been publicly released.
Additionally, negotiations continue against the backdrop of lingering tensions between the two countries. Despite ongoing contacts, Iranian officials have repeatedly highlighted deep mistrust toward Washington, describing trust as one of the most significant obstacles to a breakthrough.
