Western Desecration Sparks Outrage Among Muslim Leaders Worldwide

Western Desecration

UNITED NATIONS: On Tuesday, Muslim leaders addressed the United Nations and berated the West for burning the Holy Quran.

In his address, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Western countries were witnessing “a plague” of racism, including Islamophobia, which had reached intolerable levels.

He told the UN General Assembly, “Unfortunately, populist politicians in many countries continue to play with fire by encouraging such dangerous trends.”

He also pointed out, “The mentality that allows hideous attacks against the Holy Quran in Europe under the guise of freedom of expression is essentially darkening Europe’s own future through its own hands.”

Protests in Sweden that included desecration of the Muslim holy book have triggered outrage in the Muslim world.

During his speech at the UN, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi held up a copy of the holy book and proclaimed, “The fires of disrespect will not overcome the divine truth.”

He accused the West of attempting to divert attention by using the tool of freedom of speech and criticized “Islamophobia and cultural apartheid” witnessed in Western countries, citing actions like the desecration of the Holy Quran and the ban on the hijab in schools.

He alluded to France, which controversially banned Muslim girls from wearing hijabs in schools.

In his speech, the Emir of Qatar also stressed that one should not consider compromising the sanctity of others deliberately as freedom of expression.

Sheikh Tamim stated, “I would say to my Muslim brethren that it is implausible for us to get distracted by an idiot whenever it occurs to him to provoke us by burning the Holy Quran or by other forms of triviality.”
