Saudi Arabia allows renewal of Iqama of dependents of foreign workers

The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has announced that expatriates’ dependents and domestic workers currently outside Saudi Arabia can now renew their residency permits (Iqama) online via the Absher and Muqeem platforms.

Furthermore, residents abroad can extend the validity of single or multiple exit and re-entry visas through these platforms.

Jawazat emphasized that these services are accessible through the Ministry of Interior’s Absher platform and the Muqeem portal, following payment of the required fees as per regulations.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Pakistan announced that private group bookings for Hajj 2025 will open on January 10.

In a video statement, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi confirmed that private Hajj bookings will begin tomorrow following the resolution of relevant matters. He added that the Pakistani government is committed to enhancing arrangements for both government quota pilgrims and private Hajj groups.

Hafiz Ashrafi also stressed the importance of complying with the laws of both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

It is worth noting that Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain chaired a meeting on this topic yesterday. The meeting was attended by Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, head of the Pakistan Ulema Council, Secretary of Religious Affairs Zulfiqar Haider, and Chairman of HOAP Nasser Khan.
